About Gump

The Richard B. Gump South Pacific Research Station is a UC Berkeley-owned research station on Mo’orea, French Polynesia. Scientists from across the UC system and across the globe come to Gump to study the ecosystems of the South Pacific, and I stayed at Gump for a UCLA marine biology quarter. The station is right on the waterfront, and there is a coral reef right off the beach in front of the dorms. All in all, not a bad place to spend a month and a half doing research.
